Leonardo Husid

Leonardo Husid is an associate whose practice is primarily focused on Business Litigation and Construction and Real Estate Law. He has extensive experience in complex civil litigation including but not limited to drafting and arguing law in motion, propounding and responding to discovery, preparing clients for deposition, defending depositions, taking depositions, drafting mediation briefs, participating in mediations and arbitrations, and preparing for trial. Further, Leonardo possesses solid understanding of business operations and negotiation, analysis, and drafting of contracts.

His previous experience includes being a legal consultant for engineering and project management companies involved in complex construction and real estate development projects. He also spent nine years in Canada, where he acted as owner’s representative and project manager for a venture involving $100+ million in construction work, $60+ million in transfer of assets, and was also responsible for risk management and loss exposure control. Leonardo then worked for one of the largest elevator companies in the world, where he gained experience in various phases of the construction lifecycle: from technical specifications and bidding on public/private tenders and RFPs, to the negotiation and execution of contracts in multiple Canadian provinces. Before joining the firm, Leonardo was an associate attorney with a boutique civil litigation firm in San Diego, representing Fortune 500 clients such as vertical transportation companies and electrical suppliers.

Leonardo earned his LL.B. from a leading university in Brazil in August of 2011, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. He has also received his Master of Law (LL.M.) in Comparative Law with a concentration in business and corporate law from the University of San Diego in May of 2022. There, Leonardo graduated magna cum laude at the top of his class and was the recipient of the Dean’s Comparative Law Award and a merit scholarship. He is a board member of the San Diego County Bar Association for both the Civil Litigation section and the Construction Law section. Alongside being legally well-versed, Leonardo is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and proficient in Hebrew, French, and Italian.
