Lisa M. Stevenson is a partner with 18 years of experience defending clients against complex civil claims.  Her practice at BEHB focuses on environmental, toxic tort, and product liability defense cases for corporate and non-profit clients.  She also represents municipal and governmental entities in Government Tort Claims Act cases as well as discrimination, harassment, and breach of contract actions.  

Lisa has particular expertise in serving trucking and transportation industry clients involving a full range of transportation issues, including catastrophic personal injury claims, wrongful death claims, contribution and indemnity matters, FMSA and HMTA regulations, client hiring issues, and first party and third party claims for a leading rideshare company.  Lisa’s trial experience includes representing with one of the country's largest trucking companies in a catastrophic personal injury matter. 

Lisa has played a critical role in several of the firm’s recent trial wins.  Notably, she was on the Lasarte v. Catalina Cylinders trial team that won a defense verdict in a Los Angeles Superior Court jury trial.  BEHB’s client, Catalina Cylinders’ President and CEO Rick Hill, said of Lisa and her colleagues: “They are brilliant trial lawyers who know how to defend clients against costly catastrophic injury claims.  We would hire this dream team again in a heartbeat.”

Lisa earned her J.D. in 2003 from University of San Francisco School of Law, where she was a Merit Scholar and received a CALI Award for Excellence.  She also served as a Summer Intern in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.  She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan.

Outside of work, Lisa is a certified group exercise instructor at Stevenson Fitness, a health club she co-owns with her husband.  She is also the founding director and associate member of Fit 4 the Cause, a non-profit organization.
