Ryan S. Cowan is an associate specializing in the areas of business litigation, cannabis law, and trucking and transportation. Prior to joining BEHB, Ryan grew his practice handling complex civil litigation relating to ownership of local and state government licenses; negotiated real estate and intellectual property purchase and sale agreements; and drafted memoranda for privately owned companies. He also has in-house counsel experience from his time serving as GC for Gavel Technologies Corporation.
Ryan obtained his J.D. in May of 2015 from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he earned CALI Awards for Highest Grade in Constitutional Law, Evidence, Community Property, and Federal Income Tax Consequences of Real Estate Transactions. Additionally, he received Dean's Merit and Excellence in Tax Law scholarships, served as a staff member for the Pepperdine Dispute Resolution Law Journal, and was a semi-finalist in the Moriarity Moot Court Competition. Ryan began building his resume as a law student through internships with Brownstein Hyatt Farber and Schreck, LLP, Andersen Tax, and the Internal Revenue Service. He also holds a B.A. in political science from Indiana University and graduated with honors in August of 2011.
